Well, this is my 50th post so I guess I'm good to start trading etc... Its taken me about 3-4 months of participation to get to number 50.

So here are the 2 coins, I believe are Japanese but I don't know the denomination. Any help is appreciated.

The top is a Taiwanese (Rep. of China) dollar minted 1960-80. The date is on the other side. The piece is worth less than a dollar.
The second is a Chinese cash coin from what may be the reign of Hsuan-t'ung (1908-11).

A minor correction to tbirde's info: the second one there is actually a Japanese "cash coin". Dsking inquired about a similar one in this thread.

Is there anything on the other side of the cash coin? Japanese cash come in two commonly found denominations: 1 mon have a plain reverse (or occasionally a mintmark or control mark), 4 mon are slightly larger and have arcs of circles in a "wavy" or "rainbows" pattern on the reverse.

You might want to check to see if it's magnetic, too - some of the series were cast from iron.

I stand corrected. The bottom character did have me confused and I forgot to check Japan. Thanks for the new info!
