Machine Doubling or Strike Doubling, they are both the same. I was going to say Strike Doubling.

Machine Doubling is an encompassing term - Strike Doubling is more specific. Semantics, but I prefer Machine Doubling for all because none of it has any value and it's all caused by the same basic thing - a malfunctioning coining press.

Classic isolated Machine Doubling. The doubling need not be totally flat, the die bounce can be gentle with the impacted area raised. The key points are: doubling is isolated, no notching, doubling is flat not rounded & the normal design shows a reduction to the design as opposed to extra thickness.
