That these sellers selling huge amounts of blatant AT coins have 'top rated seller' rankings. People pay 3x melt for this garbage and give positive feedback almost 100% of the time! Unbelievable!

This is why 1/4 or 1/3 of the sellers on my sh...I mean 'naughty seller' list have the top rated seller ranking. Its freakin crazy.

AT = artificially toned. Doctored.

I believe he is referring to Artificially Toned Coins.

And yes, it grinds my gears to know they are coin doctors but I suspect that many who buy the rainbow coins on ebay are very aware that what they are receiving is unnatural and just don't care.

But if someone is HONEST and mentions that a coin has been cleaned it's the kiss of death.

Thank you much! I haven't found much to read on artificial toning. I would imagine it's like grading; if you get out there and observe, you'll get good at recognition if properly guided. Any tips for those of us that don't particularly don't care for toning and that may some day develop a taste? Oh, and how the heck can you tell on an auction offering?

Also what drives me nuts is when sellers write the price on the coin holder/slab and a bunch of comments to make themselves look like some kind of legitimate coin shop...
