JC ..My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I first read the listing on ebay about a Icelandic 1946 proof set. well its not, even with the poor picture they used. 1. they never issued them in a set..2. They only made about 10 to 15 coins each from the 1 Eyrir to the 25 Aurar... 2. The only known examples of the 46 1 Krona and 2 Kronur are in The Numismatic Museum collection in Iceland. And 4th ..the proofs from 1946 to 1963 were only handed out to VIPs from Iceland and the five British UK museums.

Here is the listing

I think that just because a coin is not popular or that there is not much info about a coin ,,,,That they can try to pull a fast one over someones eye's

A few years ago someone tried this with a 1946 5 Aurar. Well I won the auction but it wasn't a proof coin so I contacted the seller and he asked me... why did I pay so much for it well he wouldn't give me my money back so I waited to the last day to leave him a nasty feedback that really ticked him off royally.

Why is a proof set from Iceland - no matter what year - holdered in a case stamped Forest Hills, NY?

Edited to add: Well, let's be fair. It just says that the proof set is in the original sealed holder. If that is the first holder used by that seller and they sealed it...

storm.. And thought to himself a little
I didn't catch that ....
