bambamheskey New Member United Kingdom 5 Posts	Posted 08/06/2006 07:26 am Hi! i am posting from the U.K.I have accquired a Silver fifty dollars octagonal coin which has all detail as the famous gold panama pacific coin of the same denomination.It is stamped on the edge with 5.T.O .999 SILVER ( I PRESUME TROY OUNCES AND IT WEIGHS THAT) and also has a serial number on it.Can anyone tell me anything about this ie: who issued it when where etc.. I can find no resources for it only the valuable gold issue. What is its current value and is it classed as currency or bullion.It appears proof like. Atleast this article indicates that. Now as far as value? I'll have to keep looking on that one and # minted and so forth. They are .999 pure silver. The value would be melt value of silver I believe. You could probably get a little more on ebay. Again many thanks. By the way excellent forum I have had a good look and I'm impressed!!
