I've just won this and I love the look of it, but can anyone give me any info on Scott & Bowne? I know that they had "The Man With A Fish" trademark, but little else. And I think there's a S & B building in NYC, but not sure.

And of course, there's the eternal question ever present in our collecting life; "What is it doing here?"
A medal issued in Italy, to an American company, being bought 115 or so years later in England.

Attractive design on this medal. I just Googled "Scott & Bowne" (use quotarion marks) and got 139,000 potential hits! I;d not before heard of them. You might want to acquire a few of their trade cards to accompany your medal. Such go-alongs make for an interesting display to share with fellow collectors. The detective work can be fun ... enjoy!

Thanks ExoGuy. I've googled them extensively, but can't seem to find out if they're still going. Strangely accessing google from the UK only gives about 38,000 hits, but still with no clue as to what happened to them.

Hi alganbagerap ... Here's a website that shows a pic of the building and tells what happened to the company. You can then use word combinations of the info to gather more history. Enjoy!
