Defects happen in every country, even with the 2010 modern technology. A capped coin is one that gets stuck and is struck repeatedly in the machine, crating a cap on one side. Yours looks unstruck on the one side so perhaps it flipped out of the press after the reverse strike. I am not sure what they call this scenario but a nice coin either way!....from iaconic
