About catalogue value-I always consider their prices as guideline not as a rock solid value

That's a good idea. $270 was a good price. I just wanted to let you know about Greysheet prices which can be low on some pieces as Shadow noted.

Auction archives are a great resource. I joined PCGS CoinFacts and it has every U.S. coin and a "Public Auction Price History". It's a summary of recent auction prices from all the major auction houses and is really nice to review.

Best of Luck!

There is always the problem with valuation of key dates coins.Certain margin is result of market fluctuation-is normal but also unpredictable.

Well, once again, I'm coming in a little lower than others. Looking at the reverse and the wear in the eagles' wings, I'm going with VF-35, which still puts it in the $175-$200 price range at bid. The obverse also does not show enough detail in her clothing and around the breasts. Very nice coin
