Hey all, I'm new here, and I thought I'd start off by posting a pic of this note I received in change today, after buying coffee: Let me know what you all think. Thanks!

ianmprice: Thank you. Yes, I currently collect. I've only been interested in the hobby, for about 9 months, or so, but in that time I've managed to collect a few neat bills. All from circulation.
Nickelman: Thanks. I was taken a back by it, when I first looked at it. Like, Wow, is this real? Did I really just get a note with an SN that low, AND it's a star note as well? Hehe. Needless to say, that made it a pretty good start to the day.

Being a cashier is not all it's cracked up to be. 2 years at Baskin Robbins got me the following: 10-15 $1 Star notes 3-5 $5 Stars 1 $10 Star Some 70s and 80s $1 and $5 (maybe some 10s. I forget) 3 $20s- 1985, 93, 95
1 silver quarter 5-6 mercs 1 silver roosie 20-40 wheats 3 pre-1940 nickels.
1 canadian poppy quarter. Other canadian pocket change.

Thanks for the responses, and the welcome guys. This note is by far the coolest "change find" I've had to date. It certainly pays to always check your bills, and always keep an eye out. You never know what you'll find!

paul did you ever have a problem with buying the money you got from customers? Did you have to do it when the manager wasn't looking or did he not care just as long as you put in whatever you took out.

That is niiiiiiiiiiiiice!! I have never found one that low! Did you ask if they have any more? Imagine if they had a whole strap with consecutive serial numbers!!

No, I didn't ask if they had any more. It was very early in the morning, so I was half out of it, and didn't even realize I had it, until I got up to my office, and checked my bills, before putting them in my wallet! The picture does the note copious amounts of justice, as it actually is in rougher shape than you would think. Not terrible, but it has it's fair share of wrinkles. I don't think they were handing out bills from fresh packs anyway, as the other single I got in my change was a ho-hum series 2003A, that was pretty tattered, and had nothing going for it.

My manager hated it when I went through the coins. I would usually set the good stuff aside in the drawer and buy it out when there were no customers.
I did my best to hide it from her. It made her very uncomfortable. I didn't worry too much. I worked there for 2 years and never made above minimum. It's not like I have a good job.
And I .....uhhh... always replaced what I took out. Who's going to miss a penny, really?
