I guess the title says it all, I am having a contest. The winner will get 5 world coins minted before 1960. It may not be the best prize but its free so you cant go wrong there. To win, you will have to correctly guess the following historical, nothing-to-do-with-coins question: In 1879, the English, though terribly outnumbered, won an impossible victory in the African colony of Utrecht. In this battle, more Victoria crosses were awarded than in any other single conflict. Name the campaign (battle), and the number of Victoria crosses awarded. (Yes I am actually nerdy enough to know the answer to this) I will be away until the 21st of August, but will still have internet access. I will mail the coins to the winner (provided there is one) when I get back. Now time for your two hints: #1: the campaign was NOT Isandlwana. #2: the Brit's were outnumbered 139 to 4000 good luck[:p]

Duh? Wait - edit, edit, edit: The largest number of VCs awarded in a single day was 24 on 16 November, 1857, at the relief of Lucknow. The largest number awarded in a single action was 11 at Rorke's Drift on 22 January, 1879. The largest number of Victoria Crosses awarded in a single conflict was 634 during the First World War. Wikipedia won!!!!!!!

The problem was that "Zulu" with Michael Caine is one of my favourite movies.

Well, I think that was the battle, with the general named Haige. Anyone remember history lessons, Field Marshal Haige, the Butcher of the Somme. Well, The reason they won was because they had horses and the Zulus were armed with sharp native tropical fruits, as my history teacher tells me. The use of prickly pear used first then TKC!
