This email I've received today: 31 Aug 2010: You have received 1,200.00 GBP or more in total payments to your PayPal account. PayPal is required by law to comply with European Union Anti-Money Laundering regulations by collecting information from customers when they receive more than the set limit in total payments. These steps need to be completed within 180 days to comply with this regulation. and next section: Once you have completed all the checklist items, your case will be reviewed by one of our Account Specialists. We will send you an email with the outcome of the review. Checklist item means confirm(for the 3rd time)account details.What I'm thinking:pay pal trying to make me open business account for small charge of course.More than half of this amount is for two coins only.So my question is:if I'm selling for example a car-I'm not allowed to sell it for more than 1200 GBP(approx 1900USD?.I consider a joke that this amount of turnover can be consider business.Did anyone came across this problem?I do need some information on this thread.I was about to put on ebay tomorrow few very nice German States coins and some later dates Canadian dollar but I'm quite confused now.Can they block my account if I get more money there?Any help welcome Edited by valdiman 09/10/2010 12:33 pm

O_O Spaces after punctuation please. That was difficult to read.
It sounds like paypal is covering themselves.
Anyone else encountered something like this? Perhaps it's a scam email.
Maybe contact paypal directly (via phone number from their website) and inquire about this request.

I received a similar around Christmas. It was abit more than just acct. verification though. Before it was all over ,I had to send a copy of pic I.D; Social Sec. card image, and a utility bill. BTW, was your acct. suspended? Mine was. I was allowed to receive $$, but not send. It made my buying on the bay null. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. Happened a couple months ago also. A different situation, though. I sent 9 gifts in one day, including 2 to members here. It was the same drill. They must have prob. with no-fee gifting. I dont really feel sorry for them. On the paypal sign-in page, they have a counter. They have nearly 250,000,000 accts. I think they want your $$ in there as long as possible. They have alot to play with. Figure the average acct. has 100. Multiply that buy the # of accts. and that's 25,000,000,000.00 dollars. Wonder what sort of interest they make off that.

You're breaching contract and stealing money from them. Of course they have a problem with it. Wait till you see how incredibly helpful they are when you gift someone money for a coin and the seller screws you. You'll probably come back here and complain about that too right? It's people like you that will completely ruin it for people like me that send money to my kid in college fee free, which really is a gift.

I don't keep money in mine, I just transfer it from my checking account during purchases. But then again, it probably goes and sits in someone else's account.

In theory everything is fine.Quotes from paypal account:
What can I do while my account is being reviewed?
* receive payments * add funds by an electronic funds transfer * send or request money * withdraw funds from your account
What can't I do while my account is being reviewed?
* close your account
What I'm afraid of-what if I don't pass evaluation or whatever it is called?

I just check my pay pal account and it still says "Free" for purchases and gifts that come from my balance or my bank account. The only time there's a fee is when I use the credit function of my account. It just means that when I "gift"; I pay the fee.
I'd give them a call before I gave out all the info to a web site or email address.

Quote: We be "breachers". You're not a breacher, you're a thief. You think just because it's a company it's not stealing? You remind me of the postal employee that tried to rationalize his thievery by saying he only stole insured packages. Quote: Look in B/S/T and see how many people request it. Oh, yeah. That makes it all ok. Quote: I'll continue. I wouldn't brag about it, that's how most thieves get caught.
