I have had a lot of trouble winning these at the prices I like to pay, even for really beat up ones. Been a lonnnnnng time since I've gotten one, let alone four. Seems people are more interested in copper than silver. Maybe because things are slow I was able to win a bunch. Here they are!

Also won this large cent which looked pretty decent and might be a good candidate for some Verdi-gone!

Thoughts/grades? Thanks!

I'm finally getting into early copper, its been a long time coming. I've excessively collected barber and Seated Liberty coins for quite awhile now.

Some nice looking copper. The only thing that concerns me is the sellers feed back on the 4th link you posted. Seems they have had trouble getting the coins out in a timely manner.

True, I don't trust the guy but with the extent of buyer protection, I don't have anything to lose. Do you think the thing on the back is a planchet flaw, or damage? I wasn't sure, but given I sold a corroded example with slightly less detail than this for about $40-50, I figure I should be able to at least get that much for this in time.

Partly why I'm buying these though is just out of interest. I always like to grab stuff for eventual resale but usually I will legitimately enjoy owning/examining the piece. Otherwise there is no point because one could just make money off of stocks or something if that was all there was to it : )

On a strange note, I bid on even MORE classic heads and lost all of them =/
