Looks tooled and whizzed. I can see tool marks from a mill along the front edge of the bust.

Oh yeah, definitely. Almost looks like a mint copy or something with the way the bust is 'cut out'. Sad that people will give sellers like this a top rated seller rating. Do you think he knows?

It just doesn't look right. It has undoubtedly been fooled with. I can see brown (or bits of gunk) in the protected areas around the devices, yet the fields are red?
This alone leads me to believe the color is not original and would make me steer clear of it.

This seller sells a ton of coins on ebay - literally hundreds of listings a day. The descriptions are basic boilerplate. This is the MS description, this is the AU description, this is the VF description, etc. The pictures are good - basically what you see is what you get. I have bought from this seller before and have been satisfied - although I stick more to lower priced stuff from him. Does the seller know? I think probably yes but I don't think there is intent to deceive but rather just a matter of when you list hundreds of coins, there's going to be a little of everything in there - whizzed, cleaned, original, etc. Ken

I have bought from this seller before as well. Most of the time if the coin shows an obvious cleaning he will state so in his listings. I have only ever bought Wheats from him and yes he does sell hundreds of coins every week. I would just study the pic, if something seems off, I would pass.

Its not that hard to say 'this is whizzed' etc, you know? It's just so blatant. Mild stuff I understand, but this is not mild. I understand listing a lot of coins, but it should have been obvious this wasnt MS. The problem is, some knowledgeable collector may think it is and bid very very high, plus it makes sellers seem dishonest when they do this.

SC, yeah-- blatant is the right word here. I'm pretty sure that ridge under the chin and bust weren't struck that way. That pic should be next to "whizzed" in a coin dictionary.

Quote: I do not attach a grade to the coin as grading is very subjective and I am by no means an expert. One person may grade a coin as a MS64 while another one grade it as a MS65 so I will leave that up to you to grade the coin based on the scan. In other words, one person may grade it as "a pile of puke" while another may grade it as "a pile of crap"
