Can someone verify whether these (selective) gold-plated silver maples are actually produced by the RCM, or by some other mint? I've searched but cannot find any information on the Mint website.

Thanks.

This looks like the 2008 20th Anniversary Selectively Gold Plated 1 oz. Silver Maple Leaf produced by the RCM. I think the issue price was around $100.00 CDN.

I couldn't find it on the RCM site, but I did find it on J&M's website (scroll to the bottom of the list)

NO ! this coin as been plated after by another company this is not the 20th anniversary gold plated leaf.

First : the leaf design is the one use for regular issue

Second : they are no 1988 - 2008 date to commemorate the 20th annyversary under the Maple leaf desing

Third : its 100% sure that this coin was gold plated by another company or mint

Bad or good news? your's to decide.

If this is the 20 year coin released for the anniversary of the silver maple ...it's missing the double date's that mine has under the maple leaf..

This is not the 20th Anniversary issue; that much is obvious (I own that piece).

I've seen a number of these standard-looking SML's with the gold-plated leaf online. A recent ebay listing claims that this is a "limited-edition coin struck by the RCM in 2010 to commemorate the Canadian maple leaf", but I don't buy that as 2010 is not an anniversary year for any Silver or Gold Maple.

I guess I shall contact the Mint.

I've seen the Brandenburg and London Bridge gold plated SML's, but those carry
privy marks. It will be interesting to hear what you find out defone.

My apologies for posting the incorrect information and link folks, I should have taken a closer look at the coin before I commented.

This is typical of the COUNTERFEIT stuff being produced by a small company in the USA designed totally to defraud. They have even stooped low enough to use the "Yellow Ribbon" stating "LImited Striking" Just garbage. Here is an example. I searched this "Item" back to the manufacturer last year. They are painted in the USA, with no fees paid to ANY ORGANIZATION WITHIN CANADA. They just tug on peoples heart strings..........

Disgusting. Particularly when coin dealers stoop so low as to sell these without acknowledging they're not genuine RCM product.
