The FAO's purpose is to encourage advances in agriculture and food production, especially in third world countries. One of their major sources of funds are special issues of FAO coinage by these countries, most of which are sold to collectors. These FAO coins are produced by several different countries, and there have been several series of them. A frequent theme on them is the "Food for All" message.
