The Jefferson nickel has a planchet defect on the reverse over the word "cents"....is this set worth anything more than a normal 1975 proof set?

Looks like a Space Invaders Death Ray! Or perhaps anti aircraft defense in action!

There are perhaps two types of defect on that nickel.

I cannot believe it is a rusty die, but more probably a droplet of oil has gotten between the die and the planchet, which may also explain the scratch like 'anti aircraft fire', which may be a splash streak radiating away from where the droplet landed.

I would say Struck Through Grease and it is worth a little more then a regular set would be to the right person.

Yeah, that's no planchet defect. Looks like it's Struck Through Grease and grime.

An obvious proof struck through error like that one should carry a decent premium, I like it because it is also my birth year set
