Today went to bank that has a coin counter, I brought 3 rolls of Roosevelt's one circulated, one bu with no hairlines ( chose them from many coins that I had glassed <ms63.
Some heavy toned ones and a few proofs low grade but again no hairlines and some bu clads.

Made arrangement to run these Roosevelt's through the coin counter ahead of time, for only for numismatic purposes.

The results where as suspected all the coins would be upgradable if they where a ms66+ to begin with. The rubs, deep scratches or hairlines where encountered on almost every coin in the uncirculated state. By glassing them before and right after all new damage was obvious from the brightness of the defects.
In the circulated coins had less major rubs, none the less most had a degrade of some sort. The devises have been flattened thus the area of abrasion is more spread out.
The proofs had all toned yellow, being 1970 to 1983 and with all coins there was evidence of degrade.
The toned business strikes with its layer of paint showed that it was indeed a silver coin. These proved to the best before and after
results.
Hairlines where evident on a little less then half the coins however they had none to start..
