I thought the u.s. mint didnt make these but HSN has them now

They were struck privately, not by the mint!

they have the "DC" mint mark on the reverse- overstruck to get the proof-like finish

in the description, tells you how they were made

Made in China! Thats stated toward the bottom. Great, now even the American networks are peddling those Chinese fakes.

No it is not made in China. The origin would be Loveland, CO and yes, Daniel Carr is the creator of the Amero as well as the designer of the New York and Rhode Island State Quarters. The base coin is a genuine bullion Silver Eagle that is restruck with a proof finish.
