Maybe not the correct forum but ?
Were all 74-S's proofs ?
I looked up the mintage figures for this year/mm coin
and could not find any seperate figures for proofs or business
strikes if they do indeed exist, but just the total mintage figures.
Reason being that I recently found one in a bank roll. Circulated R/B
but definately not now or possibly ever was a proof coin. At least that is my opinion based not so much on the wear but the strike. No big deal I guess, but just wanted to know if there were business strikes done on that coin. If so, that clears it all up.
Thanks.

Not only are there business strikes, but there are small and large date '74-S's!

They are not as popular as other small/large date varieties because they are easily obtainable in circulation. The small date MIGHT be a little harder to find than the large date.

Thanks guys. Could not find the proof mintages, so now I see :)
Also was not aware of the S/L dates. Did you mean S/L dates or S/L S mintmarks ?

Small and large dates on all '74 mints.

I think there is a small/large MM on '71-S's as far as Memorials go, though.

Oh boy, more lists to make :)
I'm curious any way now, so will go search for some pics.
of the S/L dates.
I realize there are a lot of other years with both S/L dates
and MM's but if not really worthwhile looking for than I won't bother. I got interested in the 82's so I am putting together one nice BU roll of 82-P S/D zincs just for the heck of it. And in the meantime while looing at other 82's keeping an eye out for the 82-D
S/D copper and the elusive 83-P S/D copper. :)

There are no small date proof 1970-S cents - all are large date.

Small and large exist for all mints in business strike.
