So, I use the Whitman Red Book as my reference for note values. It's nice because it's not just for small-size notes (although that's all I collect since I only pull from circulation as of now) and also has lots of info/values on star notes, error notes, even fractional currency and encased postage stamps... ANYWAY... I know a lot of people use the "Standard Guide to Small size U.S. Paper Money 1928 to date" and was wondering if this gives values in all note conditions. Mine usually on gives values for extremely fine or uncirculated and sometimes very fine and uncirculated, skipping extremely fine leaving you to only guess its value. Only for very old rare bills do they show very good and fine values. I know if bills are in bad shape they carry less of a premium but I would assume there is at least some market for them?

Currently I have the Red Book and the Standard Guide to Small Notes. I find them both to be very useful. I am however amazed at some of the difference between them. Most times they agree on value, but not always.

A couple of things I like about the second book is that it takes into consideration blocks and print runs, but like the Red Book doesn't give values further down in the food chain. In the end I just have to use the "best guess based on..." method for info on notes below VF.

Same as your Red Book, only has lower grade pricing for the more rare notes.
