I've been thinking about him recently myself. I just put together a small composite picture of the close friends I've made on CC and I have a picture of him in there. I feel like I knew him such a short time, but I'm glad I got to know him at all.

Steve's nickname was from his cats that he loved so much. He had four of them but I can only remember Dude and Zipcode. He also liked the big cats, especially the North American Cougar. Steve was always having contests to give things away. And sometimes he didn't even have a contest,he just gave things away. Back when the CoinWorld board was up he found nine ammno boxes of coins in his warehouse that he'd forgotton about so he put together packages of coins and just sent them out to everybody in CoinWorld that wanted one. Steve was also a major, major silver bug!

Yes, Jan. of this year. His birthday was in Feb. I believe the 16th. I had purchased a Calander of Cougars and mailed it to him early because I was going to the post office that day. He got it about a week before he went into the hospital where he passed away. I'm glad he at least got to see his fovorite big cat.

Catman supplied me with new JFK Half Dollars each year at face value, and also started me in the very enjoyable "Wheresgeorge.com" site.
He was a very valuable member of CCF as well as Knights of the Coin Table.

How wonderful you all are to contribute to his memory.Although,as a new member,I never got the pleaure to get to know this man,but he seems have touched your hearts in a special way.I would think his thoughts of you ,were as special as yours.Maybe(as Tls5933 has started) there should be a memoriam of him in his name.Whether it be to help with donations for the YN's,or to aid in support of this wonderful forum.A way to honor him. :) sn31.

Although I never got to talk to catman (he was gone before I joined)I certainly feel it was my loss, I have went and read each of his post's and he seemed like a really good guy and from all the posts on the day of his death I can tell he is certainly missed. I just can only hope that the day that I am called upon that I have touched half as many people as this one catman did

Metalman, what does "Touch not the cat bot a glove!!" mean? Does this stand for something pertaining catman? I have seen many many people ask you this same question (without the catman reference) but I have never ever seen you answer it

I won one of his contest. Sorry about the big pictures. I'll always cherish these. He gave me lots of advice when I first started.

Generally I answer by email ,,
If you look at my avatar,, it is a Scottish Clan Crest Badge,, this is my Family's Crest and Touch Not The cat Bot a Glove is the inscription.

I too won one of Steve's contests (#3 if memory serves) and I donated the prize I'd won to the 1000th member giveaway. It was nise to win the contest and I figured I'd pass on Catman's spirit. He is missed.

I can't tell you how upset I was to find out that I never uploaded the Memorial page for Catman. I had it all done on my computer, but it never made it to the site. Please forgive me as I am suffering from terrible memory loss.
I just sent everything over to Bobby's computer and the page will be uploaded soon. There is a lot of info and background on him there.
He sent cat notes and coins to my kids. I had the pleasure of speaking with him many times outside of the forum. It was a real privilege to know him and be able to call him a friend. I still miss him terribly.
