So checking through a box the other day, and I find it's been nicked HARD by a collector. The only coppers found were the ones that were as brilliant as new zincers. The only US cents found were zincs (except for one plus one wheat). In all, an average of one US zinc per roll. I did find 4 brilliant Shield cents, though (and a couple 2009s)! Also, a 1930 George, and a 2 Cents Euro.

Sorry, no pics. I just wanted to bring up the point that the copper had been almost completely nicked by someone using my pickup as a dumping ground. I'll have to look around for other banks now.

I started doing this box searching this year. Not impress as all the coins are always rerouted to companies like Brinks or Garda for re rolling and redistribution to businesses and banks.

I found nothing to fall off my chair so far.If you visit the same bank you will be disappointed as you might receive the same rolls you already searched. My suggestion is go to a different city all together.

I've found great things in boxes, and others have been a bust.
I tend to get four boxes of cents at a time and dump where I pick up, when I pick up (for the most part). I usually do that every 2-3 weeks or so. The vault manager at this particular bank tells me it is virtually impossible for me to get the same coin twice with this method, let alone the same roll or box.

I usually run a circuit. I hit all the different local banks. I dump at a different bank from where picked the boxes up at. I also make sure I mark the roll end with a black marker so I know if they are rolls I have searched before. I also mark the box with CRH + date + my initials. Just for my records.

You found a semi-key Canadian cent?!? Wow...
That alone would make that box one of my best ever!

Too bad about the copper though. I stopped pulling copper. It seems hopeless... who buys them?

Turns out I either misplaced it or read it as 1930 when it was most probably a 1936.
