I found this when I was little when my dad was stationed in Okinawa, Japan (weird right). I was playing in the sand from a man-made playground on base and just picked it up.

If you know, what kind of coin is it? How old is it? And what's it worth?

I don't think it is a coin. My suspicion is that it is a coin weight.

That makes my question all the more relevant: What is the weight? If you cannot get an accurate enough answer, ask a high school student to take it to his / her school and find its weight on the lab. classroom chemical balance.

It has something to do with Charles I of Bohemia (1316-1378). The phase Grossi Pragenses was used on a silver coin known as Prague Groschen.

Yours however looks to be in far too good condition and also too thick. Probably modern replica or fantasy coin.

thanks guys, I don't think it's a fake. it's kind of random to find it in japan in a playground, on a military base at that. i'll weigh it then repost!

It's not a fake, it is a souvenir and design is based on Prague Groschen. I've seen them made on Old Town square and I've seen Japanese tourists buying them.
The real Groschen is silver and weights 3.5g

no one said it was fake because it was never meant to deceive, it was made as a souvenir not as something that was supposed to be thought of as the original, thats why its not made of a silver metal so it will not be confused with the original coin. Allot of souvenirs and medals are found on play grounds all the time because they were made as something to show around from their trip so kids usually end up with them and losing them while playing. look at how crude your design is compared to an original

When looking at these coins side by side you can see the design is close but definitely not correct. The crown is curved on yours where its kind of square looking on the original and the Reverse is just way off when you look at the details. the maltese cross and stars are even crudely made on your token compared to the original coin. When you see them side by side you can really see the differences between the two

Yep, it's a tourist replica of a pragergroschen. The Prague Mint likes to make replica old coins like this. If you want some more opinions, see this old thread over on CU, where someone posted a coin with an identical-looking dinosaur-like "lion".
