The object of this contest is to find the WORST ebay coin seller. "WORST" is defined as follows: Lowest positive feedback percentage on transactions of 1000 or more. The seller MUST be primarily a seller of coins at least HALF of his listings must be coins. Procedure: Find the worst seller you can and upload a jpg of his ebay rating. As an example of what I'm looking for, here is an uploaded jpg of MY rating: Here is an uploaded example of some other, random coin seller whose rating is a bit worse than mine: Notice that these two small jpg files have ALL the information I need, the percentage AND the number of transactions (in parentheses) There will be three winners in this contest: First, second and third place. I'll post photos of the prizes later today, but I can tell you that all three prizes will be 90% silver US coins. First place gets to pick his prize, second gets to pick after first and third gets whatever is left. Contest ends at 11:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on October 8th. Fine print: Contestants can make multiple posts (as might be the case if they find a bad seller today and then a worse one tomorrow!). If two contestants pick the same ebay seller the FIRST to post that seller's rating will get the credit. A seller's rating may change between the time that their rating gets posted and the end of this contest, but the rating that is posted in this contest will govern. Contestants may NOT repost the same seller if that seller's rating drops after their initial post. If two sellers have identical ratings, the seller with MORE overall transactions will be understood to be worse than the one with less transactions. If you don't know how to upload the seller info, send me a PM and I'll tell you how I do it. Good luck...and watch for the photos of the 3 prizes later today! Edited by weerdsteev 10/01/2010 12:27 pm

If I understand, they need feedback higher then 1000.

Nod is right. Murty's example doesn't count because the seller has less than 1000 transactions. Also - you really need to paste in the actual graphic from ebay (like I did, in my first post) so that we know that you're not making it up.

So ... really we're trying to find the worst seller/buyer, as ebay doesn't distinguish between sales and purchases when toting up positive feedback. For example, I have only about a dozen or so total sales and over a thousand purchases, but no one would know that unless they went back about 13 years and checked my early feedback. I guess if the only criteria are what shows on the page, though, it doesn't really matter. Just wanted to be picky and point that out.

Good point pls, however, I think we would find that lousy feedback is more common with sellers than buyers. Just the same, in my capacity as contest originator, I will act as a totally impartial judge to review the submissions and to make sure that THE MAJORITY of their recent transactions are of a selling nature.
In about 30 more minutes I'll be posting photos of the 3 prizes.
WOLF: I'll PM you with instructions...but maybe not until tomorrow.

Okay...here are the three prizes: An 1886 Morgan in XF, a 1951 Washington quarter in MS-something and a 1943 Walker in F or maybe VF. All three are from the Philadelphia mint so I'm not showing the reverses unless someone thinks it's really necessary.
Good luck!

Cool contest! Thanks weerdsteev! Here's my entry. I took a picture of my computer screen. It turned out horrible, but it's still readable.

pepperdoodles is a real ebayer and really has 0% FB but has not been on in a year, I thinks thats kind of unfair because the feedback %age recorder only records FB for the last 12 months. but I guess since its not in the rules it's fine.

Member id pepperdoodles ( 2637) Positive Feedback (last 12 months): 0% That's because the seller hasn't bought or sold anything within the past year. The seller's rating is actually 100%, which makes your guess ineligible if I'm reading the rules correctly. I'm pretty sure this seller meets the criteria but I might be wrong. Thanks for the contest!

In my role as contest creator and impartial judge, I am also JURY and EXECUTIONER. In the true spirit of this contest, we want active ebay sellers and not those who haven't participated in so long that their feedback equals zero. Let's not try to find loop holes. Find ACTIVE sellers with less than scintillating feedback. I guess I need to add one more rule: The seller has to be pretty active - at least 100 transactions over the last 12 months in addition to 1000 or more total transactions. Sorry andrewjconners! Do NOT pass GO and do NOT collect $200! (Not only that, but as I stated earlier, you have to show the actual graphic from ebay...like I did back at the beginning and like cwb8539 and wheatguy did.) There - the judge has ruled!
