Nice lighting, where did you get such a good light bulb?

I'm going to say a high vf. Nice coin. I think the light used is natural light found only in the sun on the deck! Notice the pict with the rusty screw showing.

is this a verified real Trade dollar? some things look off, could be due to lighting? olive stem pretty thick, and the borders are very wide?

E Plurbius Unum looks a bit suspect. Personally, I would never buy a raw Trade dollar. There have just been to many chinese fakes. Although, a dealer I used to frequent once bought what he thought was a fake because it was too light. He showed it to me and I said, but could this be a box dollar? After many minutes of smashing it on the floor (a hard carpet, so it didn't hurt the coin really) it finally opened up to be a perfect box dollar w/picture). He sold it to me for 100 bucks. Great day that was.

I'm preeeetty sure that this is real. If he bought it at a coin shop, there would hopefully be knowledgeable people running the place so I don't think a fake would have really slipped by. The E Pluribus Unum looks goofy but thats a legitimate Trade dollar characteristic. I also think the olive branch thickness is just due to wear. But I'm no pro!

I am pretty sure it's real, the dealer at the coin shop I go to said if it is proven that it is fake he would buy it back. His grade on it was VF. I think the olive branch thickness is due to my solar system bulb.

In my opinion. It's risky to buy an uncertified Trade dollar. That said this is one nice coin.

The color looks "off" to me. It does not look silver, it looks more gray to me (then again it may be my auto monitor settings). It's nice looking no doubt, I just don't know...really nice definition on the stars (three lines on most of them)!
