Gouges on the shoulder are a bummer, but otherwise fairly nice.

Yeah, I think I may have the same one. Too bad they're not the big one. Was it a roll find? Mine was.

I wish I could say it was a roll find. I actually bought it off another member for $10 thinking it was a different die.

Now I'm trying to get an idea of grade (and how the gouges affect the grade) so I can give him a fairer price.

Scooby, that's commendable, but I think it's almost impossible to fix a market price on one of these. I'll just tell you how I look at it. The error is what's important, not the slight damage, or even the precise numerical grade. IMHO, it's EF, netted down to VF for the damage. That'd be its "market grade." I don't know that I'd place too much faith on that coppercoins website to nail down the price, though. Just negotiate on the price, now that you have an informed seller, courtesy of your honesty. Again, FWIW, I think that was very big of you, not trying to "cherrypick" him or her on the error. Good luck.

That is big of you Scooby and I appreciate it.
If you find out the coin is worth more than you paid so be it, if it's worth less I would gladly refund the difference!
I'm not a die variety collector but I like looking for them and getting them to people that will enjoy them.
