I got 1944-S Jefferson "War" nickel in change! It was so shiny I looked at it thinking it might be a 2010, but lo and behold it was a 35% silver War Nickel. What would you grade it?

I think accurately grading from those pics might be kind of difficult, but congratulations on the find! It's not everyday you find a high grade War Nickel!

Best I can do, I grade it blue.

Seriously, though, what a catch in change! Who ever gave you that one?

Yeah, the pics came out kind of blue. It looks EF to me but I don't collect Jeff nickels. I have no idea where I picked this up. I was fishing through the change mug for some quarters to take to the car wash and saw this in it. Good bet that it came out of a vending machine though because I've been spending a lot of money in them lately.

I would say a VF or maybe a VF+ there is a bit to much wear to say EF.

Just my opinion.

Nice find though :)

Of course I don't know much about nickels, but this one seems to have excellent luster. The obverse appears to be MS so some of the reverse weakness might not be wear, but due to strike. I have no idea how this issue is with respect to strike, nonetheless, I'm inclined to say it's AU based on the obverse.
