There were a lot of problems with it, as well as a lot of complaints, so it was removed about three months ago.
Rest in Peace

I thought that was one of the purposes of the family topics thread? Yes, no?

Everyone is more than welcome to share their birthdays, but we will no longer track them.

The problem was that there was no way to "opt out" of setting it in your profile. If you neglected to set it properly, the forum would default your birthday to thirteen years before you joined. Since a lot of people did not bother to set it, we seemed to have a lot of thirteen year old members on the forum. Confusing, right?

It would take a lot of work to fix the problem for something that a large majority of the members never bothered with. The Admin decided that time was better spent on something more popular, like the new Auction Area.

Consider this...

The birthdays had been gone for three months before one person asked about it, while the auctions were gone less than half an hour before we had several questions about it. I will further add that had Adam not mentioned that it was my birthday, this thread would not exist.
