Has anyone found any rolls with an "X" written on the cover?
Does anyone else mark the wrappers when they dump their rolled coins?

yes I've found quite a few like that...I'm guessing it means it has been sitting at the bank a while and some other collector's already gone through them.

I always mark my searched rolls so I don't get them back again.

No banks in my area will accept customer rolled coins. They insist on running them through the machines. What part of the country do you guys live in?

Same here, CU won't take them unless they are in rolls.

To me insisting they be rolled just invites fraud. It would be a lot easier to slip in a fake coin or washer to fill in the roll if it was concealed in a wrapper. Why can't they just have a coin machine like mine and let people with accounts dump. Seems a lot better for both sides.

Now I mark rolls with an "X" and two lines going around the roll.
I dump my rolled halves at Chase and I sometimes dump $100 at one time. They accept it happily but in the beginning they asked me why I had so many and what my goal was. I dont even have an account with Chase. I go to the managh er to cash my rolls. They dont check the proper width and they I have never been asked for an ID.

I don't mark mine, but yes, I do see many CWR marked with an X or something similar.

I have asked all of the banks I deal with here in central Ohio if they are going to get counting machines and all have said"no,they're too expensive to run and maintain". So,I continue to roll mine and mark the rolls. Most banks around here want a name and phone # on each roll. They all know my mark so they don't ask me anymore.

I mark all mine with a check mark....and my bank will take rolls or I can use their counting machine for a 5% fee....which is worth it for pennies, but defintely not quarters.

I dont like the counting machines. They usually charge and you cant mark rolls.
One thing I like about the counting machines is they sort out American from non-American. My mom had to use one for a grade school penny challenge but the good thing is that it spits out the non-American currency. Do you know how many grade schoolers have foreign money. Alot. I was able to get a stack of non American currency. Some British lb and Mexican coins.

One of the banks I get half rolls from are always marked by some guys initials. Teller says another collector comes in frequently. I still get dates I need but no silver.
