Hi, what do the members think of the grading assigned to this coin? Canada 50C 1953 -- small date and no strap variety. I am not sure one way or the other regarding grade? Is it more MS63? Is it solidly place in MS64? Grateful for any advice you can give. Thanks.

would be nice to see a closer pic, especially just above the ear, the hair looks worn to me, but that could be just the angle of the
picture.
There is something about the hair strands in that area that just doesn't cut it for me.
Nice toning tho....

Looks very nice to me. I will call it a solid MS64.

It's pointless to comment... the TPG had the raw coin in hand with at least 10x magnification and strong lighting. Your pics are small, lo res and the coin is behind plastic with reflections from all sides. To distinguish a 63 from a 64 this way is impossible.

That being said, it looks flawless, beautiful toning, good strike and no bag marks...could be a 65!

Hi, thank you very much for the responses. I suppose I was wary of the condition of this obverse in relation to others I have seen viz. South Africa, Britain, etc. I was unsure about the strength of the strike and the full detailing of QEII's hair. I suspect it is probably ok in the 64 category after all. If only I could master the art of taking a better photo...

The photo's not all that bad actually, but higher resolution would help a lot. Try setting your camera to take the largest photo size, and then after cropping out the coin, leaving it in a larger size (800 wide at least).

My favorite series. Not MS, this one is PL. 63 maybe 4 Cameo.
