Its hard to tell with scans but in hand, does the coin have any luster?
If not, I say XF 40-45. If there is original luster, I would go with AU 50.
Whats goin on with that weird line across the middle? Looks like a folded note line

Looks cleaned but with all that distortion, hard to tell if EF, AU or Low grade MS.

No way it could be AU with that much obvious wear on the eagle's wing feathers. EF45 at best IMO, more likely EF40.

If you need help grading... I have found this site to be extremely helpful for MANY types of coins.
the site coinauctionhelp.com that has a picture grading (make auction plural... keeps removing my link) Just trying to help I am not affiliated with them in anyway.

I would say, as it looks, VF35. There appears to be significant wear on the wing as well as on the hair and the word "peace." The overall look also isn't too appealing. A few nicks as wells. However, the front does seem to be better then the back, therefore, I discounted it to VF35 due to the reverse.

they can slap me on the wrist or ban me if necessary, I was just trying to point to a resource that has helped me and would probably help this guy. I assume they got spam from there, which is why I put a disclaimer on there. Do what you need to mods... Just tryin to be helpful is all. I would have PM'd the OP but too early not enough posts. Thanks for the heads up Joker.

No way that the PCGS photgrade can help on this coin. I stand by my first assessment of the original picture. The second set shows an well cleaned (or poorly cleaned, your choice) VF Peace dollar. Those that think EF need to refer to the reductions in grading for cleaning and hidden cleaning marks. I would actually grade this coin as "Genuine"! (Although I'd have to see it first.) Sorry Troy, but it's now worth spot value, and that ain't half bad! Put it under a black light and see if the striations and residue are present.

Quote: Those that think EF need to refer to the reductions in grading for cleaning and hidden cleaning marks. A coin that's been cleaned gets a "details" grade that usually doesn't take away points for the cleaning (which looks pretty light) and so the coin IMO is a nice EF-40.

The new photos are a lot better and I withdraw my EF estimate. This dollar won't be able to climb out of VF territory.
