I thought I'd show another pic.
Its a 2003 P New Effigy with a dot above the left maple leaf.

I found a couple in a roll and some in my change. I have seen some on ebay but not listed as a dot. The dot is sometimes knocked off and it shows a hole in the plating. These are mostly visible in mint or near-mint states.

Someone else correct me,if I'm wrong.I think this error is called
"gas bubbles".If,so they are pretty common in all modern mint products. I even have mint sets that have various "flaws"
(Which have since been replaced of course)
I've had so many of these minor errors that I've had to roll them up and take to the bank!

Thanks for the comment collectall.

I know you want someone else to reply but I must not have made myself clear (my bad). It can't be gas bubbles because the dot has the same shape, size and position over the nine I have found.

I started this talk because I personally found these from three source.
1. Opening a roll and finding 7 of them.
2. Two in pocket change, one with the dot broken off.
3. An ebay listing with the dot visible
ebay is not the best source but it proves that these are not isolated to my area, and can be found by anyone. This was a few years ago and I'm unable to give you it as a referene.

I'm not saying these are worth tonnes of money like the 1936 dots. They are more like the 1994 50 cent dot in G, 1956 dot dime and the 1963 dot cent. They are more likely to come from different dies than being gas bubbles.

I was hoping someone else could find one and confirm it as anything.

O.K. I think I understand now
I have found quite a few "Dot" coins myself.(Not caused by gas bubbles) I kept them of course
I still don't know what causes this error
Maybe pitted die or something like that?

Please excuse me,"still learning".
