Hello,

Are there any ANA members here? I'm sure there are, what are the benefits of a membership for a beginner?

Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,
ANA Life member 5559 here. I am located up in Alaska, so the only benefit I receive is the monthly Numismatist magazine, but I consider that to be enough of a benefit to make membership worthwile. I can not affort to attend any of the large shows, but depending on your location, ANA membership will provide you free access to all of the ANA shows. You can also borrow books from their library.

I also think that in general they do a good job of promoting our hobby and keeping an eye on the antics in Washington DC for any legislation that would hurt our hobby. They have a large emphasis on getting young collectors involved as well, which is important to our future. All of these things add up, to me at least, to plenty of good reasons to support the ANA.

They have made mistakes along the way, and will make more in the future, but so has any large organization.

ACE Mike
