I came across this coin today and was curious as to whether it is a mistake coin or any information I could get on it. It seems to have a beveled edge all the way around the coin. It's indented. It also doesn't sound like a quarter when it strikes the table. Can anyone help? If the pictures aren't clear enough or you need more please let me know.

The coin is severely corroded and the copper core has been partially eaten away.

Welcome to CCF. It could have been dipped in acid.

dipped in acid then someone took out the edge possibly to make a necklace. why would would someone make a necklace out of something that ugly you ask? good question. it probably didn't look that way at the time the necklace was made.
Rest in Peace

I think there is a certain type of acid that mainly eats away the copper, that would account for the edge.
