WOW! My local coin dealer has a few silver sets he sells and I picked up one 1964 Mint set. With nickel, penny, dime, and JFK half with the letter and packageing for only $12.25. He even told me that the price in silver alone is $14.45. Do you guys think I should go back and get more since he goes by the grey sheet and the grey sheet just cant keep up with silver and gold?

I bought one about 3 weekends ago at a flea market for $7. Sometimes good values are to be had.

Is it a good deal? Right now, absolutely. But I do not know your intentions.

Is this purchase for a collection or an investment?

If this is for an investment, are you planning it for long or short term?

I cannot imagine there being a problem turning them around for a quick profit. However, this is not a risk free venture. You could buy them today and then silver makes a significant drop tomorrow. You may end up keeping them long term, hoping to recover a loss.

I can see it right now...Obama strides out on the White House lawn and promises to the press that he's seen the errors in quantitive easing. Then he strides over to his pet Dragon, Snarkle, and flies off into the sky to fight the alien mothership threatening to kill all the trolls in Turkey.

Kidding dude ;)
