The Franklin Mint has them for sale. They are overpriced keepsake only.

Why would anyone want those? To me they are damaged coins....they are plated post mint...therefore they are damaged coins to me...worthless.

Well to each their own I picked some up today in a lot at an auction.
Would I have bought them out right.. No! But they are nice to look at to a point.

I made the mistake of buying 2 of these (NJ P&D). Luckily it was only a $7 mistake for the pair...

My Father runs a plating shop if you want gold coins send me you coin and shipping and 1 buck for the gold and I will send you all you want. but just so you know. they are damaged coins after that because they have to be polished and buffed to a shine so they are all crap no matter how good they look. but if you want them let me know. Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately the gold plated quarters have no numismatic value. When the State Quarters first came out, some companies thought it would be a great idea to market a "gold version" of the State Quarters. A lot of people bought these sets and some were disappointed when they found out they were worth little more than a quarter.

The thing is, with the way gold has gone up these "worthless" plated quarters now have between one and two dollars worth of gold on each of them. I'm starting to wonder if I could pick them up at face value whether or not it would be worthwhile to do some reverse electroplating to recover the gold off of them.

The gold plated quarters look nice, so if that is what you like then collect what you like. They may not have much numismatic value, but they would make a nice display piece.
