Stujoe started this thread on Coin People and I thought it was a great idea. I actively partipate here (obviously) and on Coin People (Stujoe's). I lurk and post occasionally on Collector's Universe. There is a lot of good information there, but it tends to get a little "wild" for my taste. I used to actively particpate on Coin Talk and lurked with the occasional post on Coin World when it was active. What about the rest of you?

This is my only home these days. I will check over on CoinPeople when I find a few extra minutes.

I'm usually a 1 horse person. I started off with CW and was exclusively there 100%. Now, today, I usually pop in here first, post and or reply in here first if anything interesting catches my eye. Then I pop on over to Coin Talk, altho lately I go there less & less due to the low quality of questions being asked by 2-3 young collectors that never read anything & that have in last month or so taken over that place just to see there post count go up. Finally I am considering joining CP, but they also seem to drift off topic alot. I also on occasions pop into NGC's collectors forum just to see if anything new is happening.. What I need to get my fix is a more "mature" place to hang out with collectors that at least read. In here most are just that, and many are the peeps I know from CW. I guess most of the ex-CW members that are still looking for a hang out and it looks like many have settled here as the primary place. So thanks for creating this place susan.

I love the freedom on here. On cointalk.org it is very hush hush to give a link to another forum and they even block them out in private messaging with ******'s.

This is home. I also read and occasionally post at CU- but folks there can be downright bitter, sarcastic and personal. I saw a post where a newby put up a warning re phishing paypal/ebay eamils and what seemed like a genuine attempt to warn others was met with ennui and scorn. But lots of knowledgable folks ar3e online there and I have learned alot. CP doesn't seem to have the crical mass of folks to be helpful. CT has some good folks and info, but I know that some I respect did not feel appreciated or welcome there, although I don't know details. Don

I participate at both Coin People & Coin Talk. I have learned things from folks at every forum I've ever read. Just like everything else in live, I try to absorb the the good & leave the rest. I come here & elsewhere to share & learn about a mutual interest, to explore other opinions & to redefine my own.

Every forum seems to take on a personality of its own. It starts with the admin and mods but most of it comes from the most active regulars and the rest from the other less active participants. It is a dynamic that can change over time as people come and go.

Actually, Coin People has steady growth and there are some very knowledgeable members there. It's worth checking out.

I like hearing the good and bad comments. A lot of times I get more insightful comments about CP on forums other than my own.

Coin Talk used to be my home until this forum started. There seems to be a more mature membership here. I am all for new collectors but they have to give a little respect to some of the more experienced numismatics that answer their questions. For instance, there was a thread about a gold plated IKE that a novice collector was determined to be a real, solid, gold dollar coin. A number of members posted and politely explained to these "kids" what they actually had. Instead of taking the advice from a number of experienced members, they simply carried on for the sole purpose of seeing how fast they could run their post numbers up! What happened is that the quality of "talk" became quickly diluted with garbage instead of quality coin discussions. This is not to say that everypost must be written like a police report, but just imagine a "Who's on first?" thread for every topic? So that is why I retired mainly from CT and make my primary home here.

Yes it is horrible at how bullheaded the youngsters can be but then again they are the future of this wonderful hobby so I try and keep that in mind when posting with them.
