I have a quarter that I was just looking at and I noticed a DD on the word GOD with the OD. Has anyone ever heard of this?

not that I know of. most of the "double Dies" today are nothing but Machine doubles and are not considered varieties or errors. but you can find them on ebay every day as double dies. be careful when buying DD's in this century cause we now use what is called the single squeeze process. a true double die is a result of the die have more than one design on it as a mistake or whatever.
