I was checking the WAM listings on ebay. Really doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in them at offered prices unless they're really cheap. Even in completed listings, nothing much. A circulated 1999 WAM had no bids at about $20, although it was really tough to tell from the pix if it really was a WAM. Are WAMs really as rare as reported? I've found 5 98s, 1 99 and 7 2000, admittedly with a whole lot of looking for 2 years.

Saw a set of raw WAM's 98,99,2000 go for $224 this morning...Saw that one you are talking about...I wouldn't have bid on it either. I've seen a couple of 99's dirty and well circulated, go for 75-80 dollars.

It seems to me like people are reporting finding WAMs all the time in the forum. Although I haven't found one (also haven't done much roll searching by most peoples standards) I don't think I'd pay a whole lot for one because it seems very powssile to find one. If someone was selling a set of AU/MS WAMs I could see that going for a good amount due to the condition and the fact that it's multiple coins.

They are finding mostly 2000 WAM's and some 1998 WAM's.....99's are not poping out of the woodwork.

The 99 WAM remains an extremly low pop coin. The economy is bad.Nows a great time to pick them up.
If you have the money, nows a good time to be buying.

I agree with Joey. The 1998 and 2000 coins are fairly common. The 1999 is still very scarce.

The problem is a lot of people selling WAM's identify them incorrectly. Poor pictures = no (or low) bids. Even for $20 it's a risk and hassle to return (if you can) for a Close AM with a tiny gap between the letters. I've seen a TON of misidentified WAM's on ebay and on forums.

The 1999 is definately scarce. I've been fortunate to find two of them....but I search a helluv a lot of boxes.
