I have an attractively toned NGC MS 62 1922 Peace. I don't particularly care for the slab since it is not a high value coin. I want to put it in my dansco but I was wondering if the composition of the dansco album itself would alter the toning pattern.

I know that slabs are not airtight but my question is: Is the slab environment different enough from the dansco album to alter the toning?

The rims are deep burnt orange and fades into a light blue/purple in the center.

Attractively toned Peace dollars are always in demand and being in a slab really helps the value as people are naturally suspicious of Peace dollar toners and there is always the chance it wouldn't come back NT if submitted again. I would personally just leave it, but it all comes down to what you like and want to do.

I agree with Wheatguy and would keep it slabbed.

I think just the oposite but it really depends on if your planning reselling that coin. If not, get rid of the plastic stuff and enjoy the coin in an Album. Only reason for keeping it in a slab is for resale. As for me I collect coins, not plastic.

Maybe I didn't state my question right.

I want to know if putting the coin in my dansco album will have any affect on the toning.
Rest in Peace

that's a good question. Coins can tone under any conditions, even within their slab; but the type of climate can also play a big role. It can be risky to purchase older wheat since that are labeled "rd" on the holder for a premium, because they can easily turn "rb" in the slab. I've had rainbow toned coins in my Dansco for a few years with no effect, but I also live in a dry climate.
