Hello,

I have a few Canadian "Canada Dollar" coins of three types and I'm trying to figure out what material they are made of. I have been looking through new and expires ebay offers, Wikipedia and some Google results but found most of the information to be either incomprehensible (at least to me) or contradictory. It is still not clear to me whether these are nickel or silver/copper coins.

Here are two pictures of both sides:

The coins' parameters are:

Diameter: 36.1 millimeters or 1.42 inch
Thickness: 2.74 millimeters or 0.11 inch
The weight of each coin is 23.4 grams (0.82 ounces, 361 grain).

If there is any other information I should provide, of if other length/weight units would be preferable, please let me know.

Thanks!

Daniel

I'm not positive,but this is my guess:
1973= .500silver+.500copper
1967= .800silver+.200copper
1964= .800silver+.200copper

According to the specs. given!
Sorry DBM I was in the midst of posting and noticed you beat me to it
