Today at the grocery store, I get two CU 2006-F $1 notes in change. Which I noticed were serial #'s F 66366360 A and F 66366361 A. I pulled a $5 note from my wallet and asked if I could get "five ones". The nice cashier gave me F 66366362 A through F 66366366 A. Since I figured this was my lucky day, I walked to the service counter and bought a $3 Lotto ticket with notes # 60, 61 and 62.

The Lotto ticket I bought is for the drawing this Wednesday night. I also got a CU 2006 Series IK $20 star note in change today, but it's from a 3,200,000 note run in May 2009.

Congrats. Agree with nick -- right place at the right time. What's interesting is that this is from the first 2006 block for Atlanta printed June 2007 and is only surfacing into circulation now.

If you are referring to just the fact that they are crisp and consecutive then no, if they also have fancy serial numbers then quite possibly yes.

Quote: crisp and consecutive, then no Which is why I spent #'s 60, 61 and 62. Note 63 is a binary itself, and is only three away from the 66 binary radar note. Strictly speaking, 64 and 65 are not special number notes by themselves, but they are a nice accompaniment to their binary neighbors as a set.

Wow ..... good fortune on the final Radar note. I enjoy these currency posts ..... am now a dedicated bill searcher which bugs all the folks ahead of me in the 7-11 line. David

The Binary note was luck but the Radar was experience and quick thinking. Nice job!

I always look at the serial numbers of the notes I get in change. (I got a CU 2006 $20 star note in my change two hours later) When I asked for the "five ones", I was praying that the cashier hadn't rearranged or shuffled the $1 notes in his drawer. Since I got 62 through 66, his drawer's CU strap was still in sequential order. Quote: The (63) Binary note was luck. Getting 66 was my objective. Once the notes were in hand I noticed that 63 was also a binary, so I decided to keep 63 through 65. (to keep as a set with 66, indisputably the big "catch" that day) I agree, 63 was "luck".

Quote: I always look at the serial numbers of the notes I get in change. I have started doing the same thing since I have become a member of this forum. I hadn't really had any interest in currency before other than spending it for coins! But now, I can't resist...I always have to look. My wife lovingly rolled her eyes when I proclaimed that from now on, I needed (as if I were getting a "fix" or something) to check all the bills she gets before she spends them.
