The Austro-Hungarian empire was more or less one country until they ended up on the losing side in The Great War, WW I. Some of their coins were minted for Hungary, some for Austria. A fascinating historical story.

While historians generally speak of "Austro-Hungary" as one country, from a numismatic point of view they are usually regarded as two separate countries. After the failed Hungarian Revolt of 1848, Hungary was given limited autonomy. The entire empire was split into "Austrian" and "Hungarian" halves, with the parliaments of the two half-countries responsible for the coin issue in "their" half. The banknote issues, on the other hand, were issued by the Austro-Hungarian Bank for the empire as a whole.

You can tell Austrian coins from Hungarian ones by the languages on them (Austrian coins have Latin, Hungarian coins have Hungarian) and the shape of the crown; the crown of Hungary, with it's "bent cross", is very distinctive and is still used as a national symbol by post-Communist Hungary.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
