I would put it in the AU range. The surfaces don't look original to me.

I'm thinking probably XF, and agreed, it looks like it was cleaned. The color is just off, especially on the obverse, and the rims look weird. Take a better picture when you get it in hand :)

Well maybe it was just a bad picture. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm kinda thinking it is a bad picture as well. It looks like there may be some cartwheel luster, which is a good sign. It's a gamble for sure, but I have made out pretty good in the past gambling on less-than-ideal pictures and sellers without a clue. I've also been burned a few times too. You'll have to post some pics when you get it!

Detail wise, it's solid for AU with a shot at MS with very little wear and lots of luster from what I can see. No way would it grade below AU.
Originalliy wise, it almost has a recolored or muted look to it. The rims are really fat too. Interesting.

I am having a problem determining wear in Lincolns hair. It seems like it lacks detail on alot of MS coins I have seen. Is that a reflection of the early design or some such?

Maybe it's really late, but doesn't his hair seem worn down, and the lapel on his jacket looks like it needs some dry-cleaning. Could we see the rim and the reverse? I'd put it at AU, except for the fact that the seller admits it was circulated. And it does look a bit cleaned on the right side. Lots of scratches. The lowest is EF. I've heard of coins with high lustre going as low as VF, and EFs with no lustre.

Just my humble opinion based on those pictures.....VF-30 harshly cleaned. Sorry, I don't like what I see, hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, I'd be interested in seeing a better picture. The typical highpoints seem to have little wear, as I can see plenty of detail above the ear and on the jawbone. If what I'm seeing isn't luster, I suppose it could have been whizzed to produce simulated luster...but it still looks to me to just have some strike weakness and no more than an AU level of wear.
