Turned in $1000 in halves and picked up my first rolls of quarters ($100). They were a bust. And quarters are just as dirty as pennies I have figured out

Non-eventful roll if you are looking for just silver, but I found some higher grades worth keeping. I feel this roll has sat around for awhile given I could only find four quarters minted within the last ten years. Here's the breakdown of one bank roll today:

Washington Eagles: 20 ($5.00)
1968: 1
1974-D: 1
1976-D: 1
1978: 2
1979: 1
1984-D: 1
1985-P: 1
1986-P: 1
1992-D: 1
1992-P: 1
1993-D: 1
1993-P: 5
1996-P: 1
1997-D: 1
1998-D: 1

State Quarters: 16 ($4.00)
1999-P, DE: 1
2000-P, NH: 1
2002;D, TN: 1
2002-P, LA: 1
2002-P, MS: 1
2003-P, IL: 1
2003-D, MO: 1
2004-P, IA: 1
2005-P, MN: 1
2005-P, KS: 1
2006-P, SD: 1
2007-P, ID: 1
2007-P, UT: 1
2008-P, OK: 1
2008-P, AK: 1
2008-P, HI: 1

U.S. Territories: 1 ($0.25)
2009-P, American Samoa: 1

National Parks: 3 ($0.75)
2013-P, Great Basin: 1
2014-P, Everglades: 1
2015-D, Kistachie: 1

Quarter-Roll-Searching

Someone at my local credit union cashed in $500 worth of quarters, most being from the National Parks series. I gobbled up pretty much all of the ones they had before 2010. And to believe these were being given out to people asking for quarter rolls! The big score was FOUR U.S. Virgin Islands rolls! Two D and two P!

Thank you! When I asked for a roll of quarters and was handed an American Samoa U.S Mint roll. I didn't know what to think! My gut said just take it and save it, but I was glad when I thought it over and asked if they had anymore rolls like those back there.

The 2009 quarters are very hard to find for me.

This is because most of them, along with all of the 2010 coins, and most of the 2011 and 2012 coins are low mintage when compared to previous and more recent years. 33 of the 42 coins produced during those four years have sub-50 million mintages, and five (2012-D El Yunque, 2012-P & D Chaco Culture, 2012 P & D Acacia Nat'l Park) have sub-25 million mintages. In my opinion, ALL 33 of those coins are worth saving.

With the 2009 quarters, there is also the "Puerto Rico problem." A lot of the 2009 coinage, particularly Philadelphia minted coins, went there as they had a need for coins. The rest of the mainland did not have a need for coins due to the recession - people were raiding their piggybanks and turning in their accumulated coins to banks.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Wow talk about coincidence. I sorted a bunch of accumulated quarters from a vending machine earlier today.

One coin of the following
2009 Virgin Islands- D
2010 Yellowstone- P
2012 Acadia- D
2012 Denali- P
2012 Hawaii Volcano- D
2012 Chaco Culture- P

I also saw about 5 or 6, Pictured Rock quarters and an Apostle Islands quarter both released this year.

Eagle reverse quarters and State Quarters in abundance. Spied two 1776-1976 Bicentennial quarters. There were also ATB Quarters from 2013 to 2017 but I didn't keep a list of them.
