Thanks, I'm mostly a hater of quarter searching, but technically I need about a dozen state park quarters still and the W hunt has me looking also, but I really enjoy nickels and cents more. Dimes are right up there with quarters on my dislike list to hunt.

Generally my hunting is stopping at banks for mixed rolls for around $60 a bank over the week in passing and then hunting on the weekend, try to build up a box of each denom in customer wrapped, but I'm really wanting to try to get the entire W set somehow from roll hunting at face value, so here I am. Generally speaking Silvers are slim, there isn't much to find in quarters since the State Quarters, it's all these varying designs and looking for the "designer named" semi error in my personal opinion. "leaky bucket" "spitting horse" "snow on roof" blah.... boring. hahahaha. Seems like if it's not a State Quarter, it's a 1965 or 1967, or a smattering of later 1990s.

I can and will carry this on through the end of this year, who knows maybe I can get that 3rd 4th or 5th W design early and win me a couple thousand lol!

So after searching nearly $1,700 worth of quarters ($1,640 of them were from mixed rolls that I got at Wells Fargo Houston area), these are my results:

W Mint Marks - 0, zilch, nada, nothing

Silver - 1 (1962)

2009-2012 - ~40-50+. It appears El Yunque is the most rare as I only found 1 of those. (I don't count Denali as it was a high mintage.)

BU State Quarters - ~20. These appear to have full original luster on them.

I think I'll go back to Nickels. I mainly searched the quarters in hopes for a "W" mint mark but I may just have to buy them.

Oh and I tried using the strategy of picking up a few rolls from multiple grocery stores or department stores. That didn't work out as one place wouldn't give them to me, and another place wanted to charge me an extra .20 per roll so I guess the best bet is still the bank.

Not a Bad search ACWhammy, 1 silver is good, heck any time a silver appears is good when it comes to quarters!
The Ws are a real struggle unless you find BU rolls of American Memorial Parks, even then you can get skunk rolls that don't have a W in it.

I personally like hunting nickels, theres always interesting finds.

My Final 10 rolls were pretty much same old same, although I did find a 1984 Brasil 10 Cruzeiros, which is pretty cool, it's made from stainless steel.

Also found a 1987 Canadian Olympics Biathlon circulating commemorative 25 cents they made for the 2010 winter olympics.

So a couple cool foreigns.... but now I have to collect the entire Canadian series of these olympic coins!

Nice! I keep all my foreign coins in a small jar, I don't even know where some of them are from, but it's always fun to find one.

Ya know, not sure why I typed "1987" for that canadian quarter, it was 2007. Imagine them making them in 1987 for 2010. Lol they were still 3 years early for the Olympics though!

Thanks! For sure 2 rolls have W enders but I don't see any Lowell reverses anywhere,so maybe more AMP Ws. so at least there will be 2 Ws for sure.
