I found this '54 at work today! My 3rd silver quarter that I've found this month. A few more days of September before October is upon us...hoping to find another one and match my total for August.

Found 64 Bu/Au in approx 80% of 1000$ bag. Also found circulated SC proof quarter - 2002 I think - not with me. Not silver. First proof quarter. Will finish rest tonight

Found another 64 in the end of the bag. 2 quarters in one bag. Somewhat better than average for me

I'm off to a hot October start! 3 40% halves just the other day and this beauty of a quarter! Lost of luster and not too shabby for being in circulation for almost 50 years. The reverse is just as nice if not nicer!

I found silver in every bag/box I opened saturday. The quarter bag gave me a 1968 Canadian. Those are like dimes of the same year.. Its non magnetic so that means it has silver in it.. right?

Quote: Its non magnetic so that means it has silver in it.. right? Yep. If your coin is strongly attracted to a magnet, it is not silver. Yours is most likely 50% silver. Some of the Canadian quarters from '68 were 50% silver, and some were 99% nickel. Speaking of quarters...today I found another '64-D quarter! I'm on a roll!

I don't usually search quarters, but today while I was in a bank inquiring about half dollars, I asked if they happened to have anything else old or weird. She said she didn't know if it was worth anything, but knew it was silver as she handed me a 1952-D quarter.
I think that may be the first silver quarter I have gotten at face value, at least since I've really been paying attention.

Just great, before reading this post I was going to get 100.00 in quarters on pay day from my CU. The head teller told me alot of older people are bringing in rolled coins so I was going to do this for 4 weeks straight and see what I get. But after reading that some of you go through $1,000 in quarters and find 1 or none I am rethinking this.

What's the average for silver found in a box of quarters? I typically average one silver dime per box, but rarely find quarters
