Whats the average on finding pre 65s in boxes? In dimes I have been finding 1 in about ever 150 dollars worth. I am sure its not as good by far but still interested to know. I have never roll searched quarters.

I have heard/read that quarters are much more difficult to score silver. I've only done one box and got zilch. However, a sample of one box is way too insufficient to give you a good answer.

I do know the one time I did a dime box I got two silver dimes; one of them a Mercury. Again, a sample of one box.

Right. Maybe I will give them a try around the Holiday season or a little after. Hopefully I could score on some Christmas present coin dumps.

I received quarters as change from a vending machine today. One of the quarters turned out to be a 1981-S proof Washington. This is the second proof quarter I ever found in circulation, and this is on the heels of my silver finds over the weekend. I am on the up and up!

I went to the library today to print a book report and I only had a $10 bill, so I went to the cashier and asked if she had any quarters or dimes for the printing machine and she says I only have a roll of quarters, I took it, and to my luck found a 1981 S proof!

Baseballfan - nice find

did a 1000$ bag - zilch. Although I did pull some D mint hole fillers for my mom and aunt for their quarter collection. Not a total loss, but took me way longer than normal to go through.

Went through a $1000 bag of quarters this weekend mainly looking for 2014 ATB=D quarters. Only found 6 2014's but they were all P mints. Did find a very dirty 1964 quarter. Also found a Chucky Cheese token but no other foreign coins. Also found about 16 2013 ATB's with 1 or 2 D mints mixed in.
