I have searched quarter boxes a few times and didn't find any silver, but did find other things to collect. I collect all the State Quarters, parks, etc... For all of the people who CRH boxes, how many if any BU,'s/AU's if any do you usually find? I need help identifying those quality coins. |

Does anyone keep a spreadsheet of their find rates while searching quarters? I'm just curious how often SLQs are found over a large sample size.

$100 in quarters did not get me any silver, but I did find an ATB Quarter I needed. Edited by CoinCollector2012

After a break of nine months or so, I picked up a case of quarters last week. I only needed seven of the last ATB's to fill my folder up to date, and I figured I'd give it another shot. I DID find three of the seven, so the search wasn't for nothing. I still need the Colorado and Florida 2014 D's and the Delaware and New York 2015 D's. Some people would think searching through a whole box for the three I found is a waste of time, but when you're retired and bored, this was the monument of my weekend!  My tab......... (avg.) 1965->1998: 1,022 (51.1%).../33 years = 39/year 1976 drummer: 11 (0.55%).../ 1 year = 11/year States 99-08: 795 (39.6%).../10 years = 79/year DC+Territory: 10 (0.50%).../ 1 year = 10/year ATB Quarters: 162 ( 8.1%).../ 6 years = 27/year ***NO silver and NO proofs*** In addition to the three coins I needed for my set, I also saved the 'drummer boy' and 2009 quarters. Also, I picked several quality quarters (prime AU's) that I put into 2x2's. One odd-ball quarter I found is a 1994 without a mint-mark. It has several light 'nicks' but nothing in the spot near where the mint mark should be. I took some pic's on my camera to post but I'm having trouble transferring the pictures online. I'll keep trying to post them later. Edited by atticguy

I don't think so - I am only 4 coins away from a full set of the ATB's - my Denver mint coins are in great shape - the Philadelphia coins are a little harder for me, but still doing well. I have only worked through about 6 boxes of quarters to get there. Also completed a full statehood set and a date run from 1965, all good coins. It can be done. |

it seems impossible to obtain all of the S strikes. impossible for me to open up my wallet and pay for them that is. otherwise its doable if you live in big cities where they get around.

I haven't had any trouble accumulating most of the ATBs. As a matter of fact, I have several rolls of them laying around that I don't want to throw back into circulation
