Went a estate auction at the local VFW they have about every other month. I have had some good buys in there in the past. But since the economy going down so bad people are paying silly prices on everything silver and gold so last time I came home empty handed.

That happens sometimes but but then there are times when the competition buyers don't show up or daydreaming and you get a bargain

That is very true it depends on the crowd at the time and weather the bar is open at the VFW.

I hit an auction a year ago and got some silver halves at spot - around $12 at the time. Seems pretty good right about now.

In my case, the estate sales I've been to have been over priced.

At estate sales the children of the deceased think that all the old junk is "collectible" and must be worth a ton . But then you get the estate sales where they just want everything out. But those are few and far between and you won't find any coins there.
